Reduced earnings capacity Certain critical illnesses Advisory services Reduced earnings capacity

About cover for reduced earning capacity

If your earning capacity is reduced as a result of illness or accident, you will be eligible to receive a monthly benefit from us and/or to have your pension contributions waived for a short or long period of time.

If you have a company pension scheme and still receive full salary, your employer may receive the benefits.

Am I covered if my earning capacity is reduced?

You can see whether you are covered for reduced earning capacity in the insurance conditions. You find these conditions in the pension overview available in the archives section of Netpension. If you are covered, the conditions will specify how much your earning capacity must be reduced to make you eligible for benefits. You can also see how long your waiting period is. The waiting period is typically the current month plus three months. This means that you are not entitled to a waiver of contributions and/or benefits for loss of earning capacity during the first three months of your illness.

Please note that Netpension is in Danish only. You can find useful information in our app, and you are always welcome to contact us.

How much will I receive?

The amount of your benefits depends on the type of insurance you have taken out. Benefits will usually correspond to your actual loss of income. That means the difference between the amount of your salary before you were ill and the aggregate income you have after you have fallen ill. However, payment of benefits can never exceed the cover you have chosen.
