Disability pension – your financial security if you lose your ability to work

You can lose your ability to work and your income as a consequence if you become seriously ill or have an accident. By choosing a disability pension you are secured by a fixed, monthly income.

Overview Fact Overview

By choosing disability pension you can maintain your way of life.

You will receive:

  • Basic, financial security for you and your family
  • Fixed, monthly income
  • Continued contributions to your pension scheme – we will handle this
  • Possibility of deduction for contributions paid to the insurance

For example, if your ability to work is reduced to 1/3 (in some agreements it is 1/2) due to illness or an accident, you will receive a monthly disbursement. A requirement of loss of income may be applying.

Typically, you will receive the first disbursement 3 months after you have lost your ability to work. Some schemes have a waiting period of 6-12 months.

The disbursement will stop when you have regained your ability to work in a sufficient degree. Or when the agreed expiry date for the disability pension has been reached.

You will be able to see in your insurance terms when disbursements can be made from your insurance.

The disbursement is taxable and your contributions are deductible.

The disbursement from your insurance may influence/and be influence by the size of any public benefits.

Before you establish the insurance, we will ask you for your health details.
